Capacity Building

One of our strategic priorities this year has been to focus on building out our organizational foundation to better support future endeavors. In pursuit of this goal we’ve invested in a more advanced donor database platform, revamped our event presence with a new outreach trailer, and launched a new website. 

We’re also investing in our people and actively seeking out learning and engagement opportunities for our board of directors. We’ve spent many hours this year consulting with other experienced folks in nonprofit management and continuing to develop deeper relationships with our partners at organizations like Ride Illinois and the Rails to Trails Conservancy. We were awarded grants from two community foundations that will allow us to send up to six of our board members to the Rails to Trails TrailNation Summit this October.

Our commitment to prioritizing these key areas will allow us to strengthen our advocacy efforts and broaden our impact.
